May 31, 2019: On May 30-31, 2019, the UN’s Victims’ Rights Advocate convened an expert workshop to discuss a proposed statement of victims’ rights. None of the 25 participating experts have a specialized knowledge of sexual exploitation and abuse by UN personnel. Code Blue and the other few NGOs that are deeply versed in this unique field were excluded. Experts from Africa and countries with peacekeeping missions were also not represented.
